How-To Dress up Your Snuggie
Have you ever wondered why so many Halloween Costumes are sexy and skimpy when every year, Halloween falls on October 31st? Most of the country is getting pretty darn cold by that time of year and yet our costume manufacturers simply reduce the amount of fabric year after year paying no attention to the icicles that you develop on Halloween night. Well, there is a company out there thinking of you and keeping you warm on that cold Halloween evening. You will be warm, hip, and sporting the hottest new craze in costumes!
Enter, the Snuggie. Have you seen them? They are made of a soft fleece and unlike a blanket, they do NOT fall off. They have sleeves and while it keeps you totally warm, you still have the freedom to use your hands. The Snuggie is made with super duper soft, thick, luxurious fleece with roomy, oversized sleeves that let you do what you want to while still being totally wrapped in warmth. This is an amazing invention and it is not as costly as most other Halloween Costumes.
Now, I’m not suggesting you go out in JUST your Snuggie, no. You need to dress it up a little to add some personality to your Snuggie. For example, let’s take St. Patty’s Day. If you bought a Snuggie now – and yes, they do come in green – you could add a leprechaun accessory kit – which I hear Shaq is really into. Can you see Shaq walking down the street to the local pub in a Leprechaun Snuggie?
Then there is the Hippie Snuggie. This is a simple creation made up of a blue, green or purple Snuggie, a hippie costume accessory kit and an afro or hippie wig. Now if you can get 10 of your best friends to all dress up as Hippie Snuggies and then start or join a Snuggie Pub Crawl, you can enjoy a cool winter evening drinking and laughing among friends. It’s the latest trend – these Snuggie Pub Crawls are popping up all over the country. If you can’t find one in your neck of the woods, I’d suggest you start one – it just might take off like wild fire.
There is a group in Chicago, IL that organizes and participates in Snuggie Pub Crawls and while they charge a small fee to participate, they donate the proceeds to charitable organizations. The group in Chicago is currently donating their proceeds outside the US, I might also suggest looking just a bit closer to home right now. There are certainly many people in need and if a Snuggie Pub Crawl can help someone close to you, you will feel all that much better about participating.
For those of you in Santa Barbara, CA – perhaps a Snuggie Pub Crawl could somehow benefit the victims of the Tea Fire and particularly those in the Conejo Slide Area, since it appears the city will offer no help at all to them. This is just one example of how a Snuggie Pub Crawl can be used to help your neighbors in a time of need.
Whatever you decide, make sure to dress up your Snuggie creatively. Your options are plentiful. Add a wizard hat, some face paint, battery-operated string lights (thinking of your safety here), some outrageous feather eyelashes, some Jordan Farmar ears – even a Mardi Gras or other fun mask. Have some fun with it and use your imagination. Enter a Snuggie Costume Contest today – you just might win!
